- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification
- Oil changes and tire replacement /repair
- Providing labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs
- Explaining mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
- Continuously learning new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay up to date with rapidly changing technology
- Inspecting and testing vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be suggested
- Taking technical and certification courses to maintain and develop skills necessary to stay current with new automotive technologies.
- Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining all cleanliness standards in work, office, and customer areas

JOB SUMMARY:
Initiates automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and recordsJob Description:
- Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
- Help identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or doing a visual inspection or road test.
- Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work order for needed repairs.
- Prepare a repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
- Write a brief description of the problem on the repair order to help the mechanic locate the problem
- Explain the work performed and the charges to the customer.
- Cleaning/organizing and maintaining all cleanliness standards in work, office and customer areas
- Handle customer complaints.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Tire Technician is a positive, energetic, eager-to-learn team player that provides 100% customer satisfaction. This position is an entry-level position that provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to build a promising career in the tire and automotive service industry. All Tire Technician Trainees will receive one-on-one training to learn duties, processes and responsibilities of the Tire Technician position.Duties and Responsibilities:
All job duties will be developed and learned under supervision.- Continuous thinking and sharing of ideas to improve Martin’s Tire & Service
- Gather and document vehicle information including: VIN#, mileage, license plate #, and any visible damage
- Cover vehicle with protective materials before service
- Drive customer vehicles into shop
- Lift vehicle onto hoists safely
- Inspect vehicles for possible worn parts and tires
- Dismount and mount tires
- Clean hubs and wheels for corrosion
- Repair tires
- Balance tires
- Torque lugnuts to correct specifications
- Resetting Tire Pressure Sensors
- Clean shop, showroom, restrooms, and waiting room
- Take out trash
- Follow Martin’s safety policies
- Keep all tire equipment clean and in working order after each use
- Other duties as assigned by General Manager or Lead Technician
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management
- Ability to read and write English
- Represents one’s self and Martin’s in a clean professional manner
- Demonstrates a commitment of high quality service to internal and external customers
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to frequently lift over 75 pounds
- Requires motion entailing bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive background is a plus.
